A school day in China

What kind of school do you go to?

I’m in year 9 at No. 59 Middle School in Qingdao.

How big is your school?

We have around 1,800 students. There are 16 girls and 18 boys in my class.

Do you have to wear a school uniform?

Yes, we all wear the same: black trousers and a blue and white top. The uniform looks like a tracksuit.

What is your favourite subject?

My favourite subject is history, and my least favourite is art.

Are you learning a foreign language at school? 

Yes, English, which is also taught by my favourite teacher.

Do you work on computers at your school? 

Yes, we have computer class once a week.

What would you like to be when you grow up?

I’m not really sure yet, but I definitely want to go to university, maybe to study history.

How far do you have to travel to school?

It takes me 10 to 15 minutes to get to school. My parents drive me there, because I get a lot of homework every day, even on weekends. I have to be at school at 7:30 am and my classes last until 5:00 pm. Afterwards, I spend at least three to five hours doing my homework. I don’t have a lot of time for other things.
